with win at home to Ipswich

South Woodham continued there fine season on Saturday with a win at home to Ipswich.

Woodham, started fast and with only 7 minutes on the clock Liam Searles continued his fine try scoring season after constant pressure from the kick off. Adam Brown missed the conversion.

Further Woodham pressure mounted and Jamie Cox who was on for Jake Rawinsky in the centres launched a wide miss pass to Duggan who also continued his fine try scoring season, this time Adam Brown converted to see Woodham leading with 12-0 on the score board.

Shortly after Ipswich Jake Goodwin was binned for playing the 9, Adam Pickering was also binned for a high tackle in quick succession.

As Woodham built pressure 5M out, Woodham were awarded a further advantage for a dangerous neck roll on Ross Noakes, sadly his retaliation saw him red carded on the stroke of half time.

This meant Woodham would play a full half with 14 men and the chat from head coach Tony Woods was very much about game management and continue to dominate even with 14 men.

This is something Woodham continued to do, Adam Brown slotted a penalty in their 22 and Ricky Turner then managed to wriggle his frame through a gap of 2 defenders to touch down for Woodham's first try, again converted by Adam Brown to make the score 22-0.

Inevitably Ipswich's extra man pressure paid off. Scoring a well worked try out wide with a few moments left on the clock. The conversion missed and with no further late drama Woodham won 22-5 to guarantee themselves a minimum of top 2 finish and a place in the London 2 North play offs for promotion to London 1 in April. The league title is not over but the play offs look more and more likely with the results Diss are securing.

Tony Woods said "12 months ago, we were a team with little to smile about, we had a 38-0 win taken away due to registration issues and we're fighting to not get relegated... what 12 months can do, we're all smiling, everyone at the club, we're guaranteed our highest finish in the clubs history and and hopefully we will finish the job and gain promotion to London 1. Saturday we dominated across the park, even in the second half when we had a man off for a red. We made constant yards though the forwards and Neil Gittos did well coming back in after a couple of weeks off."
