Triangular Match

This week the boys were away at Barking for a triangular match with visiting Billericay. Woodham were first up against the home side, and with seven players had four from the Under 10's Playing up to make up the numbers (Adam, Oliver, Willbo and Zak).

They boys started well, and were working together as a team. The boys were passing the ball well, but lacked lustre with supporting the ball carrier when driving forward. The Rucks and Mauls were well contested and Woodham were regularly pushing back the home side. Woodham pushed forward well and dominated the second have in the breakdown, with several turnovers of the Barking attack. A good all round effort form both teams left the final score 0-3 to Woodham. Tries from Keano, Willbo and Zak.

After a short break Woodham were up again this time against visiting Billericay. This was the first time the teams would meet this season due to the previous fixture being rained off before Christmas. Billericay were slightly smaller than the hosts, Barking, but make up for this with their speed. A number of times the Billericay side made headway on the Woodham line driving them back and testing the Woodham defence. Thankfully for Woodham this held strong, and Woodham turned the ball over on a number of occasions. Final score was a mirror of the first game, 0-3 to Woodam. Tries from Zak and a brace from Rhino.
