Away at Romford & Gidea Park RFC played games against both Romford & Gidea Park RFC and Rochford RFC

We started on this breezy, mild Sunday morning with our first game against Rochford RFC. After a slow start we got really stuck in with lots of running with the ball, dodging and tagging.

After some between game oranges, we played Rochford’s second team and again getting stuck in straight away. Lots of good supportive play meant we were in the right position to receive passes and in some cases scoring a try.

After more oranges, our third game was against Romford & Gidea Park RFC. We played with great discipline, focusing on the game and getting into positions quickly.

It was noted by your parents how more structured and disciplined our players were compared to the other two teams, some great feedback for the team!

We ended with a 4th game against Rochford RFC where we saw more good passing, catching and tries being scored.

In the end the games were relatively even but I think our young players represented South Woodham Ferrers RFC well showing great teamwork, respect, discipline, sportsmanship and most of all enjoyed their morning of rugby.

Player of the week went to Archie Cogan for some consistent supportive play which not only meant we had good continuity in the game but he was also able to score some tries from it. Well Done Archie!
