southend festival

Today we travelled to the Southend festival and took 12 players, after talking with the officials we were told that Benfleet would not be attending and we suggested that we could put out 2 teams of 6 and this was agreed.

This meant we had no substitutes available and all the boys would play every game and boy did they play well.

The first game saw SWF take on Billericay and it was a great game that woodham took 7-4, then SWF/Benfleet took on Upminster in a closer game that SWF/Benfleet took 6-5, Rochford then played SWF and managed a 7-7 draw, SWF/Benfleet then took on Rochford and they managed to beat Rochford 6-3, SWF then played Upminster and also beat them 6-5, the next game was a real grudge match seeing SWF take on SWF/Benfleet and after a close game SWF won 5-4, the last game of the day was SWF/Benfleet v Billericay and even though it was the last game the boys really played hard and won 6-4.

So with 7 games played only 1 game was drawn and a game between both of our sides had the only game lost, an amazing day not losing a game to another club and the other clubs were very good today.

There was no player of the week this week it was to close to call.
