wasps coach class

This report has been written by Adam Hennessy as he has been at the 2 day wasp’s Coach Class at SWF.

For the last 2 days other clubs have been at SWF rugby club to take part in wasps Coach Class,
We were split into teams according to age, our group was u7s and u8s.
The first thing we did was play a game called numbers we had to run around and to get into groups of the number called by the coach, this game was to make us think quicker and move faster.
The next game there was 2 attackers they had to pass a ball to each other and the boy with the ball couldn’t move while he had the ball so he had to pass to the other attacker and when he had the ball he could touch other people to turn them into attackers this game helped us to pass better and to move around so as to receive the ball in good positions.
We also did some defensive practice and some attacking drills and some passing games in the afternoon we played some matches.
On the 2nd day we again were split into teams and we played a game called prison in this we had to get balls from the other sides HQ and get them into our HQ without being tagged, but if we got tagged when we had a ball we had to give the ball to the tagger and then went to prison until released by our own player who had to give us a double high 5 or when the coach called prison break and we all got out, the team with the most balls at the end won.
We did passing and tagging drills.
We also played tagging bulldog, keep the ball and played a match in the afternoon.
We also had 2 of the wasps players turn up Sam Jones and Matt Everard and they helped me and George get tags in the bulldog game.
After each day there was a player of the day award and on the last day a player of the Coach Class and most improved player, everyone got a certificate of achievement and a new Brita water bottle.
I really enjoyed the 2 days they were fantastic and fun I felt excited and ready to learn and I think I really improved on what I already knew.
