Good Training Session

We had 11 boys for training this week, but the weather has defeated us again so training was in the Main Hall at William De Ferrers. Warm up was a 10 minutes game of Rugby Netball, with a 3 second rule to pass introduced half way to speed things up a bit.

Following on from last weeks festival we concentrated on the defensive line and when attacking using space. For some reason this week the boys seemed to loose the ability to pass, so we spent 5 - 10 minutes practising passes down a line of 3 gradually moving the players out wider.

Next the boys played a game with 3 defenders each side of the pitch and 5 in the middle. The attacking team had to pass down the line and avoid the two handed touch. If touched they had to turn round and score a try at the opposite end with the other 3 defenders looking for the touch.

Finally the boys finished with a 5 on 6 game where 1/3 of the pitch width was set up as a channel. The defending team could only have on defender in the channel with the attacking team having as many as possible. The ball could only enter the channel from a pass.

The boys did well in the confined space and Josh R got the Man of the session through good passing, listening and not dropping the ball.
