where the team came together and communicated well.

A 9:30 start at Essex Outdoors - Danbury, with the sun shining after a week of rain, we were all expecting the kids to come back covered in mud.

The Team met up to tackle the assault course, with visions of the 'Total Wipe-out' course running though some of the boys minds. The course, set within woodland in Danbury, proved to be just as tough.

The team started with a wall of tyres, having to go over the tops of the sets of tyres. Next the team had to work together to go through the same obstacle again only this time under the tyres.

Moving on from the tyre obstacle, the team had to get from one end of an balance bar obstacle to the other, keeping three feet on any one balance bar at a time. Not an easy feat seeing as they only have two feet. This obstacle really pushed the boys to work as a team, and they were really communicating well by the end of the obstacle.

Next on to the zip wires, running the seats back to the next in the team before running back to the finish. The team then went on to work in two groups to cross a single balance beam that was suspended from a hock at each end, which made the beam wobble as soon as you stood on it.

Back to a single team, the boys had to create a human chain which had to weave its way over and under several balance beams. Then on to a quick fire run across Tyre swings, Monkey Bars, single rope Rope Bridge, tunnels, large scramble net and finally another set of balance beams.

The next obstacle for the boys to work as a team were 2 long tubes, with no grip inside at an angle of 45 degrees, which after electing a Oliver as team captain, they had to climb. The boys worked really well together, being told what to do by the captain., with a final slide down 2 more tube at the opposite end of the platform, before moving on to a scramble net style rope bridge.

The last 2 obstacles beckoned. The first a set of horizontal beams that gradually increased in size meaning the boys had to work together to get the whole team over to the end. The final obstacle was a 5 foot wooden wall. Toby being elected captain, set the strategy to get everyone up and over.

An excellent mornings activity with the boys really coming together as a team and communicating well amongst themselves.
