This week saw Woodham at home hosting Westcliff

Oliver captained the Woodham team in the first match. Westcliff started strongly and for the second week Woodham seemed to be struggling with the tackle, even after the early start for some extra training in this area.

Woodham showed some promise with an unprompted scissor movement from the restart, allowing Jake to run in a try from a pass from Oliver. The second attempt several minutes later was not as successful. Final score at the end of the game was 3 – 8 to Westcliff, with Morgan providing the other 2 Woodham tries.

The second game Ross took the captains role. The game was a lot more evenly matched with the lead changing sides regularly throughout the game. Archie scored a great try running straight through the Westcliff defence from the restart. The score at the end of 14 minutes was a draw with 7 apiece. Tries from Harvey, Josh N (x3) and Archie (x3).

The third game of the day saw the same teams play again, although this time without Jake after an off pitch injury. Morgan took the role of Captain, and Woodham learned from earlier mistakes to provide an excellent game of Rugby. Westcliff however were the slightly strong side taking the game 4 – 6, with Woodham tries coming from Morgan and Samuel (x3).

The last game saw us running close to the midday finish. Harvey took the Captains role, with again some excellent rugby from both sides, and a more evenly matched game. Tries from Toby, Archie (x2) and Joshua N (x4) which included a full pitch length run, baring the fruit it deserved. Final score at the whistle was 7 – 7.

A much better week this week from all the boys, next week training at home from 10am. Squad: Aaron, Archie, Ashley, Ben, Harvey, Jacques, Jake, Josh, Joshua, Morgan, Oliver, Ross, Samuel and Toby.
