The third week of training saw a dramatic change in the weather, compared with last weekend.

The third week of training saw a dramatic change in the weather, compared with last weekend.

For the third week in a row the team’s ranks were swelled with a new player turning up to see what Rugby in the Under 9’s is all about. We were joined by another Ben this week bringing the numbers to 17 players for the season.

Following the warm up we again this week went straight into Touch Rugby, concentrating on the defensive line with an intense defence game. This was preceded with 2v1, 3v2 and 4v1 defenders and attackers, again encouraging the defensive line.

Individual breakout sessions with coaches concentrated on the defensive line, the profile position and tackling from a jogging pace. This was then reinforced with a final game of jogging contact Rugby. A few knocks this week meant that Mike was a little bit busy with minor bumps and bruises. Ross again ending the session with Player of the session (2nd time this season) for tackling, good runs and passing. Well done Ross.

Next week, we are progressing onto full contact full speed rugby, and I suspect that Mike might be busy again. Have a good week and well see you all next week.
