SWF RFC U10's vs Romford
10 of the Woodham squad turned up for a home game against Romford. Romford brought 20 of their 32 players.
The Woodham squad was Alfie, Brad, Ellis, Hayden, Henry, Katie, Keith, Luke, Mikey, and Noah.
We included some tackling and rucking in the warm up, as we knew we would be needing plenty of those skills during the game. Some of the larger Romford players were bigger than our U13’s!
Romford came out of the blocks quickly and we responded too. This was heartening for the players and the supporters. We then played four quarters of great rugby. We saw both teams run, pass, tackle, ruck and show great appetite for the competition.
Romford were a bit sharper at the breakdowns, and Woodham were better in open play. The Romford players were fresher by the end, but the last two tries were run in by Woodham. Great tenacity and determination through the team.
Could do a report on each player for the contribution they made, but Henry being a novice managed a few cracking tries which lifted the Team.
Tackle count for the three Woodham Warriors – Ellis, Brad and Noah, was off the scale again.
