Under 10's vs Basildon - Sunday 6th October 2019

The rains were thundering down early in the morning, but the sun was shining on the Team during the game.

The squad was Brad, Ellis, Katie, Keith, Luca, Mikey, Noah, and Ollie. At eight a side - this was the Team!

Basildon had a bigger squad than us ( numbers and physically ) and we decided to go for four quarters.

Woodham weren't daunted by the task. Basildon had some less experienced players who were just coming to rugby. Woodham played pretty fast and direct. Plenty of graft, and skill was on show. With the Teams still coming to terms with the Laws, the Ref allowed play to flow, which suited Woodham. We showed a hunger for the tackle and the rucks. Well done to everyone for the effort. Plenty of NSR moments and everyone showed what the have.

We saw the Team get themselves together for a Team call. Great to see.

Some of the stand out moments were Ellis's enthusiasm for getting stuck into everything, Katie ripping the ball again and mauling, Brad being calm enough not to pass forward when close to the line. Luca flying, Mikey full back tackling, Noah strong-arming a player off the park, Keith tireless in his efforts over the ball, Ollie scrum-halfing to get us the ball moving, even making a cheeky run down the blindside.
