U10's away at Essex Festival

This week the boys travelled the short distance to Upminster RFU who in their 50th year were hosting this years U10 - U12 Essex Festival. The weather was sunny and warm and a great day of rugby lay ahead.

SWF were drawn in pool D along with Burnham, Eaton Manor, Southend, Stanford and Witham. Unfortunately Burnham and Witham didn't make the festival so for fitted their matches.

First up for Woodham were locals Stanford. Woodham had played them earlier in the season and stood a good chance. However Stanford came out strong and the Woodham boys didn't seem to have their game heads on, which Stanford took full advantage of. Final score after two 6 minutes halves was 0-3 to Stanford.

After a short break Woodham took on Eaton Manor. This was to be the first game against them this season, and both teams were looking for the points. Ross provided these for Woodham but the Manor were given two chances to let their quick number 4 free and Woodham paid the price both times. Final score was 1-2 to Eaton Manor.

The last game of the day would be against Southend. Again a team had played against earlier in the season, and again a team Woodham stood a chance against. This was to be a more one sided affair with Woodham taking five tries to Southend's one. Archie setting up Joshua N and Ben for two of the tries after passing out to the wing.

Scorers today were Ben, Joshua, Morgan, Ross (x2) and Sam. A good effort for all the boys today, but no silverware this time round.

Last session of the season next weekend with the requirement for something summery if you want to miss the fines.
