Billericay at Home - 6th Feb 22
When we play as a Team - we play well.
At home to Billericay. Both Teams were short of players so we played 8-a-side with 3 man scrums.
Our Team was : Brad, Charlie, Edward ( first game ), Ellis, George, Harry, Hayden, Keith, Mikey, Tobi
A good game with both teams fronting up well against each other. Woodham played a little disjointed in attack, with single runners going forward. When we supported and got the passes away, it looked great and gave rewards.
Billericay had a key player who scored most of their tries. Brad and Tobi managed to shackle him a few times, but we didn’t all get to grips with him.
We did play a bit loose going in with the ball and seeing it ripped. Our running was strong and some great steps in particular from Mikey, Tobi and Brad. Handling was good in fresh, slippery conditions.
We won a lot of rucks, though tended to put too many in and leave the ball on the floor while adding another man to the ruck! Good commitment to protecting and winning the ball.
So well played to all and a few things to keep working on to help us be more cohesive in attack and hitting lower in defence.
