Maldon at Home

Home to Maldon. We had three subs for the first time in two seasons, and nine on the pitch.

Our Team were : Alfie, Brad, Charlie, Dexter, Ellis, George, Hayden, Keith, Luca, Mikey, Noah, Tobi

We looked good as Mikey took the kick off and ran in a try. Maldon then did the same to us. We had a challenging day of single player runners with limited support, occasional observers at the ruck and breakdown, then not all engaged in tackling low and hard. Plenty of effort was made on a cold and blowy morning. Changing subs every 5 minutes was good for fresh legs, but a bit disruptive to our shape. Maldon played good rugby and were very committed at the breakdown, causing a few turnovers in their favour.

We did put some good phases together and crossed the whitewash enough to keep us in the game. Noticeable was the workrate in attack and defence of Ellis, Noah and Tobi. George continues to get into the game and made some good hits. We managed to take a few knocks along the way, as did Maldon. All players were OK be the end of the game.

We played an additional 10minutes and we really came to life. Looked like a different Team.

Well done Team. Need to play more during the game and not the last 10minutes!
