Under 12s home to Burnham RFC 3rd November 2019

Squad: Dan, Josh, Kenny B, Jack B, Charlie, Byron, Jack C, Alfie, Archie, Felix, Jake, Tom, William

A beautiful sunny Sunday morning dawned as the Under 12s readied themselves to play Burnham. With the Burnham side a few players down, the boys took it in turns to play for the opposition, which they did with enthusiasm.

The first scrum was awarded to SWFRUFC in which Daniel gathered the ball efficiently and passed to Josh, who ran it in for the first try. Excellent set play from SWFRUFC. The second try was scored in a similar fashion, only this time the ball was passed from Dan to Byron to Jack B and finally to Charlie who ran it in to score.

Dan maintained his excellent scrum half skills, Felix was looking good in the tackles enabling Dan to steal from the Burnham scrum, passing to Josh to score. There followed a series of excellent passes ending with Byron going over the line for try number 4. Shortly followed by an incredible catch from Dan which made its way to Byron who ran in another try. Despite the players playing in different position cohesion was excellent. The next try, scored by Josh, came off a superb kick from Dan.

Josh then moved to scrum half, allowing Dan out to the centre. Tom made a cracking interception. Stealing the scrum again from Burnham, the next try was scored by Josh. Jack C made his rucking valuable, allowing Dan to make good gain. Kenny B then made an amazing run to score the 7th SWFRUFC try. HALFTIME.

Straight from the restart, Josh scored the eighth try. Felix, using great fending off skills, scored the next having worked it well from the scrum. Burnham now had a good period of play, passing the ball and keeping possession. Felix also made good ground and Charlie made an excellent tackle. Burnham continued to make good ground until Felix got hold of the ball, made great ground with his awesome fending off and going over for the 10th try. With Archie, Archie, Alfie, William and Jake making their presence felt in the scrums and tackles, the final 2 tries were scored by Jack B who made good gain and used his acceleration to good effect.

A game played in good spirit, highlighting the core values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship. An amazing team performance with some individual brilliance producing a convincing win, and played to the core values helping Burnham field a team.

Player of the week was Felix for his excellent marauding runs, defensive skills, rucking and fending off.
