End year on a Winning Way

WON 30-10

We came into this game from a months spent rugbyless due to weather, so after a bit of a rusty start we lined up against a team from Witham who we have not played before. Due to their lack of players on the day we lent them two of ours, for the First game it was Josh and Lewis. We won the toss and kicked off. On a very muddy pitch w e ambled about for a bit and them had a number of breaks by the backs who by supporting each other allowed Harry, Nathan, George Murtha and Ozzy to score. Then the forwards started to get into the game with good runs by George Duce and Aaron, with George D eventually using his size to rumble over and score.
Good tackling by Dylan and the team kept the Witham team to only one score against us even though on a couple of occasion it looked as if they might break though only to be held up by a spirited defence.

WON 40-20

After a short break to clean gum shields etc we resumed where we had left off in the first game. Attacking ! This game saw Ozzy, George M, George D and Harry add to their try totals along with George Phelps-Knight and Aaron scoring. Adam , Brad and Max in the forwards were starting to dominate the game and drive Witham back at the rucks, mauls and scrums. Josh, Lewis & Ryan did well in the backs tackling well and running at the Witham team. The Witham team started to put some moves together and scored some tries which was down to misplacement by our team and determination by the Witham team not giving up.
