in league match at home against Epping & Upper Clapton.

This week the boys were at home against Epping & Upper Clapton for their last home league fixture. The weather was fine, the bar was open and a great afternoon of rugby was on the cards. Woodham were looking to bounce back from the defeat in the cup last week, and to continue their unbeaten league record.

Epping were short of a few players so Woodham lent them 2 to make up the numbers. Four 12 minute quarters were agreed and Epping kicked off. Woodham took the ball and drove deep into the visitors half, but the Epping defence held strong. Turning Woodham over at the ruck, Epping tried to push into the Woodham half but the Woodham defence were not going to let them through. The ball turned over, and passed out to Harrison saw him break through several tackles to open the scoring for the home side.

Woodham pushed Epping again, but again were turned over. However Harrison managed to win the ball back and charged up the centre of the field, using the now legendary snake hips to side step his opposition and cross the line for his second. Woodham took control again from the restart and through a Harrison pass, Jamie with a great supporting line crossed over to end the quarter 15 - 0.

A change of players for Woodham, both loaned and their own side, and the second quarter was started. Epping again kicking off, and Woodham again holding them inside their own half. The ball, won from the scrum and passed out to Coxy, saw him break down the wing for Woodham's 4th try. Further try's followed unanswered from Harrison (for his hat trick), Bullet and Cheeky (x2) before the end of the second quarter 40 - 0.

Players changed again and the teams swapping halves, Epping started to apply some pressure to the Woodham pack. However Cheeky managed to pick up a loose ball and charged down the wing, with Coxy in support, to cross for his hat trick. Epping managed to 2 trys against Woodham before the end of the half 45 -10.

The last quarter saw more of the same, although Bullet managed to break down the left wing, out running the chasing Epping team and his support, to cross for Woodham's last try of the match. Epping dug deep and managed two more against the home side before the final whistle 50 - 20.

Another great team effort this week from the U13's with the coaches trying the boys in different positions from normal. Player of the Week went to Sam, Effort of the Week to Alex and Wally of the week to Coxy. Next week the boys are away at Harlow for the last League game of the season, with a break for Easter and one final training session before the Cup final of the 23rd against Epping & Upper Clapton.
