Please find below match report from this weekends U13 Cup match at Dagenham

Dagenham 15 – 100 SWF

This week the boys were in action away at Dagenham, for their second cup match of the season. With Lewis and Alex still out with injury and Owen, Oli, Jamie and George unavailable, Woodham arrived with 15 players, with Dagenham fielding 11, Woodham let them 2 players on rotation to ensure everyone got a game.

Woodham won the toss and elected to receive the kick from the home team. Woodham were soon on the score card after a charge from Ross and Jody saw a link up with Jack to feed the backs and allowed the offload for H to crash over. Dagenham came back at Woodham and won a scrum, pushed Woodham's pack back. However the boys managed to scramble to ball back to Harrison who charged through to take Woodham's next try. More tries came from Woodham with Ross diving over after a cross field kick from Rhino, Stig crossing over after a good break by Gerard, and Jody scoring after a big hand off, then repeating the score straight from the restart.

The reminder of the half saw Woodham dominate with Gerard ripping the ball from Dagenham, with a good move through the hands of the backs for Bullet to score. Gerard then crashed over after some good pressure from the forwards, with the final score of the half coming from Bullet in the corner. Woodham taking a comfortable lead 0- 45.

The second half saw a revived Dagenham take to the pitch. Harrison being loaned to them made the first impact for the home side, breaking through the Woodham defense. Dagenham quickly followed up with a try from their own players, before a second one for the Harrison taking 15 points against Woodham inside the first 3 minutes.

Woodham regrouped and started to show some of the flare from the first half. The boys pushing Dagenham back with a great rip from Gerard for Stig to reach out and put the ball over the line. After the restart Woodham continued to apply pressure winning a penalty, from which Woodham’s crash ball from Jody saw him break through to take the next try. Jody was to take the next try with a break from the half way line. Toby next to cross after a great pick and go following some good hands from the back 5.

Next up was Harrison, back on Woodham’s side closely support by Lewis W, unselfishly passing just before the line to allow Lewis to take his first of the game. After Woodham won a Dagenham scrum, Rhino passed to Bullet following a simple miss pass for Bullet to cross over. Jody then had a good break covering half the pitch popping to Rhino to allow him to add to Woodham’s score. Jody had another crash ball allowing Gerard through to score.
The last 3 tries of the match also came from Woodham. Lewis W sprinting to the corner for his brace, then Toby taking a great catch from the kick off passing out to Bullet who ran the ¾ of the length of the pitch to score. The final score from Harrison to finish and Woodham to win 15 -100.

A great day and progression to the next stage in the cup. Wishing everyone a great Christmas and Happy New Year. Next session is training on the 8th January.
