Lee was a popular and well-known member of South Woodham Ferrers RFC, who passed away nine years ago.

His niece Jessie will be raising funds for Farleigh Hospice when she runs the 2026 London Marathon on April 26 in Lee's memory.

Jessie says: "Due to losing Uncle Lee I am very aware of the vital support Farleigh Hospice offer when families are going through their most difficult times.

"I would love to raise as much money as possible to ensure Farleigh can continue to offer this vital support to as many patients and families when they need it most.

"It costs Farleigh £21,271 a day to provide their services and with only 40% funded by the NHS, they rely heavily on community donations. For example, people running the London Marathon and raising money for them!"
