Please see below letter from Bob Pitts ( Chairman of South Woodham Ferrers RFC )

Hi all, as my time as Chairman of the club I would like to take this opportunity to let you know what we as a committee have achieved and what we are presently progressing

1. With the excellent work put in by Jack Kershaw our sponsorship revenue stream is as healthy as it has ever been and this will allow us to put together a viable business plan that may in the near future allow us to improve both our playing surfaces and our clubhouse.

2. Following numerous meetings with both the local and city councils we have managed to increase our playing space at Saltcoats by 50%. We also approached the council to express our concerns regarding the shower facilities at Saltcoats and managed to secure a significant invest from the council which resulted in the showering facilities we enjoy today.

3. Following a drawn out tussle with the council we managed to convince them that the pitch drainage at Saltcoats was in our opinion not adequate and they have invested both time and money this season to improve the drainage and are committed to continue this process during the closed season.

4. We are currently in the process of formulating a business plan for the next 5 to 10 years which in association with other projects will hopefully allow us to approach the English RFU to be considered for one of the fifty plus 4G pitches the are proposing to install around the country.

5. Our junior section continues to go from strength to strength with the untiring efforts of all the coaches and Mums and Dads who support this section week in and week out. Specific mentions to Chris Bowers,Sam Bowers and our new co-ordinator of rugby Del Godfrey-Shaw.

6. The RSSP and bar have turned around what was an operating deficit last year into a healthy operating profit now. This is due to the continued efforts of the RSSP committee and in particular Liam Murphy , Christina Spink and the clubs social committee.

7. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the clubs coaching staff of Tony Woods,Craig McClellan and Gareth Harper for their continued and unflagging support of the playing members.

In closing I would like to refer back to the business plan Stefan is formulating and would ask if all club members take a few minutes to reply to the following questionnaire to allow Stefan to produce an accurate plan on what you the club members see as the future of your club.

Kind regards
Bob Pitts
