Women's Rugby at the RFU

We are looking for new ladies to come and join our team!

Ever played rugby? No? Not a problem! - We welcome new ladies, age 13+ at all levels of experience and fitness. You don't even need to be particularly fit!
You'll get fitness, a team spirit and a lot of enjoyment, all you need is enthusiasm and a sense of fun and you will be amazed how much you can learn in a short space of time. And you'll soon find yourself getting fitter anyway!

We have a number of beginners at the club as well as ladies who have played since university. We are all learning together and becoming a great team as well as having a wicked laugh along the way. So what are you waiting for? Come and join in - we look forward to meeting you!

All shapes and sizes can play rugby - there's a position on the field for everyone. The backs are the ones who run and jink about doing skilful things with the ball before crossing the line to score. They can be any shape, long, tall, short, fat but they generally have one thing in common and that's that they can RUN! Then there are the forwards who compete in scrums and lineouts and try to ruck the opposition out of the way to win the ball. Forwards can also be any shape or size but are generally bigger than backs and tend to have more POWER!

And at South Woodham, it isn't just about the rugby - we are a friendly club with a great social element and something usually takes place after every match. So if you're looking for a new interest or just want to make some new friends then get in touch. For more info or if you or anyone you know would like to play Women's Rugby at either Senior or Junior level, please contact Heather at ladies@southwoodhamferrersrugby.co.uk
